“Come along inside… We’ll see if tea and buns can make the world a better place.”
-The Wind in the Willows
I love the tradition of tea in the afternoon, especially high tea.  Something about taking time to slow down, sip [...]

Practicing Resurrection S-l-o-w-l-y

May 30, 2007 · by Christine

For the season of Easter I made a commitment to practice resurrection of the body, both my own body and the Earth’s body.  It has been a good process as I continue to discover places of my own healing and how they are woven together with the healing of the greater body.

Dreams of Africa

May 24, 2007 · by Christine

In the last couple of weeks we have watched Blood Diamond which takes place in Sierra Leone and The Last King of Scotland which is about Uganda.  They were both heart-rending films.  I also have been reading A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmeal Beah which addresses the Sierra Leone story from the perspective of a boy soldier [...]

Radical Self-Care

June 27, 2006 · by Christine

I am back from vacation, and wouldn’t you know it, the trip home exhausted me!  I always feel like I need a vacation at home to recover from my vacation away.  Maybe it’s because I am such a nester, or maybe it is because there is always a pile of things left undone when you return.  [...]

Sacred Nourishment

May 20, 2006 · by Christine

With summer approaching, we also starting to receive a bounty of wonderful fruits and vegetables.  Farmers Markets in Seattle are opening again this month and I am eager to go tomorrow to the one in my Capitol Hill neighborhood and browse the wonderful array of locally crafted foods and talk to the people who actually are [...]
