Six Word Memoir

May 26, 2009 · by Christine

lucy is inviting us to consider what six words would make up our memoir in this moment.  Mine are:

urban monk bearing witness to beauty

I’d love to hear what your own six word memoir would be.  Feel free to share it in the comments or at your own blog.

Making honey from my old failures.

(Borrowed from one of my very favorite poems by Antonio Machado)

Last night, as I was sleeping
    I dreamt – marvellous error! –
    that I had a beehive
    here inside my heart.
    And the golden bees
    were making white combs
    and sweet honey
    from my old failures.

ah, that is easier than some… sioisa (or she) humming softly, writes in sand…

I know what it is, as light or dark as it is, in black and white, at its worst. I can see what it can be, at its best. Cannot stop trying to draw out something better, though there have been some very long pauses.
