When we were in Whistler over Christmas we had the delight of seeing two different rainbows, which I realized were actually “snowbows.” One of them looked like a traditional arc (top and bottom image), the other hung suspended in the air upside-down (middle image).

Very pretty. I love the mountains and the snow.
Having visited the Oregon Coast a few weeks ago, on the drive just prior to reaching the long stretch of Coastline there was forest fluffy white like the photo you display. I was taken with the grandeur of the site. It was dark and misty as we drove through and it felt like an enchanted place……and the snowbow – I don’t think I have seen one before. Thanks!
Hi Christine.
Our different worlds look very much alike these days…..
Beautiful photos.
Thank you all so very much, I am glad today’s meditation speaks so much to you! It was quite a gift indeed to behold in person.
Truly what a gift, Christine! Thanks for sharing these spectacular images :D It is an inspiration and offering of a touch from The Holy. Neat, neat, neat!!! –Karla
PS…I’ll have to do some digging through my journals from high school, but I have a poem/story that a friend gave me about rainbows. When I find it, I’ll scan and send it to you!
the middle one reminds me of a cradle…comfy and cozy, all wrapped up in color :-)
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a snowbow. And how marvelous to have seen one arch downward. Nature’s phenomena are so awe-inspiring and such blessed gifts.
Wow – I have never been done seeing such a thing as a smiling rainbow. How special you are, Christine, to get yourseln a smiling rainbow.
Beautiful, it’s sights like these that make me feel how impossible it is that our world can be just an accidental creation.
The one in the middle is like a smile from the divine. A little reminder that being unique and creative is the natural way.
