Touching and Being Touched by the Ineffable: Kabbalah and Jewish Mysticism
with Rabbi Zari Weiss
Saturday, May 21, 2022
9-12 Pacific
12-3 Eastern
5-8 pm Ireland/UK time
Program Description
In his book, Varieties of Religious Experience, William James describes mysticism as the exploration of ineffable and indescribable religious experiences, which are often momentary or fleeting. Sometimes these experiences result in profound insight, knowledge, or intuition, which could not have been achieved through purely rational means. In this retreat, we will learn about how mysticism has been experienced and understood throughout Jewish history. (Kabbalah represents only one stage in Jewish mystical practice.) The retreat will include meditation, time for personal reflection, and sharing with others.
The retreat will be recorded for those who pre-register but are unable to attend at the scheduled time.
