Program Description
This 3-hour mini-retreat will focus on insights and practices gleaned from selected verses of the sacred poetry of Rumi, Hafiz, Rabia and others to illuminate, guide and bless our life journey. Topics will include longing and surrender, transforming ego and opening the heart, prayers and contemplation, service, building community, and embracing the mystery of death .
The program will include chanting, spiritual exercises, meditations, and small group discussion.
The retreat will be recorded for those who pre-register but are unable to attend at the scheduled time.

Imam Jamal Rahman
Imam Jamal Rahman is a popular speaker and author on Islam, Sufi spirituality, and interfaith relations. Along with his Interfaith Amigos, he has been featured in The New York Times, CBS News, BBC, and various NPR programs. Jamal is co-founder and Muslim Sufi Imam at Interfaith Community Sanctuary in Seattle, Washington, and adjunct faculty at Seattle University. He travels nationally and internationally, presenting at retreats and workshops. Jamal’s passion lies in interfaith community building and activism. He is the author and co-author of eight books, including Spiritual Gems of Islam and Sacred Laughter of the Sufis.
