Share your Word for 2015
In ancient times, wise men and women fled out into the desert to find a place where they could be fully present to God and to their own inner struggles at work within them. The desert became a place to enter into the refiner’s fire and be stripped down to one’s holy essence. The desert was a threshold place where you emerged different than when you entered.
Many people followed these ammas and abbas, seeking their wisdom and guidance for a meaningful life. One tradition was to ask for a word – this word or phrase would be something on which to ponder for many days, weeks, months, sometimes a whole lifetime. This practice is connected to lectio divina, where we approach the sacred texts with the same request – “give me a word” we ask – something to nourish me, challenge me, a word I can wrestle with and grow into. The word which chooses us has the potential to transform us.
- What is your word for the year ahead? A word which contains within it a seed of invitation to cross a new threshold in your life?
Share your word in the comments section below by Tuesday, January 6, 2015 and you are automatically entered for the prize drawing (prizes listed below).

Jubilation! Life is wonder-full.
LOVE…a simple word but I am a survivor of a verbally abusive marriage and God seemed to constantly call me over the years of abuse to 1 Corinthians 13 to show me real love and what it should look like. As 2014 ended, I once again found myself called to review 1 Corinthians 13 because of experiencing my daughter behaving like her father, my ex-husband through disrespect and verbal abuse. God is calling me to reflect on what true love really is…patient, kind, not rude, protects, hopes, does not fail.
My word is “SECURE”…
Psalm 16:5 / Lord, my allotted portion and my cup you have made my destiny
“SECURE”
Many life changes , happenings, and insecurity….
“to hold fast to hope (security)that lies before. This we have as and ANCHOR of the soul, true and firm. (SECURE) —-Hebrews 6:18
Deep Peace !
My word for this new year is actually two words, but some how, doing the first holds the promise of the second: Behold-Beheld
Vibrant
My word for 2015: Commit
My word is “abide.” Many years ago I began opening my heart and mind for a breath prayer and this is the word that came to me. It has been resonating in my soul over and over for quite some time now.
Believe is my word this year. It has so much to do with believing in myself, in God’s sacred abundance and in the limitless blessing that is ours to allow into our lives.
Live fully
Open heartedly
Vistas unfolding
Everything is perfect
I also choose the element of Earth to support and give manifest to my journey of love.
Everything is perfect
All of me is worthy
Reality changes
Think joyfully
Holy is Earth’s sanctuary
And… Christine. I love reading this mornings love letter. ‘Dwell’ . thank you for that.
SPARK. Spark of change? Spark of romance? Spark of inspiration for my writing? I look forward to the unfolding of what will ignite in my life this year.
