Program Description
At Abbey of the Arts we celebrate financial accessibility and strive to make all of our programs available to those who long to participate. We offer many programs at no cost such as our daily and weekly email newsletters, the Lift Every Voice book club (including the Facebook group and bi-monthly podcast/video conversations), the Holy Disorder of Dancing Monks Facebook group, and our five 7-day Prayer Cycles of morning and evening prayer including audio and video podcasts (with a sixth week to come*).
We offer a sliding scale for all our online programs and extensive additional scholarship assistance to those who are in financial need.
We also celebrate compensating our many artist, musician, and ministry collaborators financially in ways that help support them in being able to thrive while creating meaningful resources for us and this community.
If you have the means to help us sustain these offerings, we invite you to consider joining our Sustainers Circle for the 2024-2025 academic year (August 2024-June 2025)! We will close registration in early September.
Each year we gather a core circle of financial supporters to help keep our offerings and our community open and accessible to all who desire a contemplative and creative life.
*In 2024-2025 we will be creating video podcasts for the Love of Thousands Prayer Cycle (October and November release) and audio podcasts for our newest 7-day prayer cycle on Cultivating Seeds of Liberation (May and June 2025 release).
What's Included
Sustainer Circle Dancing Monk Level
$300 one-time payment or $30 per month for 10 months includes:
- Contemplative prayer services (October-May)
- Centering prayer (September-May)
- Dancing monk feast day reflections (several times per month) View a sample of this offering here.
- Monthly scripture reflections from John writing as Hildy, our Monk-ey mascot
- Private online retreat platform with a forum facilitated by Melinda Thomas to share with others.
Sustainer Circle Mystic Level
$600 one-time payment or $60 per month for 10 months includes:
All of the above in the Dancing Monk Level
PLUS
- Advent Retreat – To Be is a Blessing (December 2024)
- Lent Retreat – Seven Gates of Mystical Wisdom (March-April 2025)
Sustainer Circle Saint Level
$12oo one-time payment or $120 per month for 10 months includes:
All of the above in the Dancing Monk and Mystic levels
PLUS
- Writing as a Spiritual Practice
- Orphan, Fool, Sovereign, Prophet: Creativity on the Threshold
- A Midwinter God (a signed copy of the book is included)
Sustainer Circle Archangel Level
$18oo one-time payment or $180 per month for 10 months includes:
All of the above in the Dancing Monk, Mystic, and Saint levels
PLUS
- Writing on the Wild Edges: St. Brendan’s Voyage as Creative Guide
- All of our mini-retreats including: Calling on the Sacred Feminine, Spiritual Memoir, Francis & Clare, Samhain and the Ancestors, Winter Solstice, Feast of Brigid, Bhakti Yoga and the Heart of Devotion, Earth Psalter, Ripened (S)aging, Songs of Resilience & Strength, Brother Lawrence (11 in total)
- An additional signed copy of one of Christine’s books (Available books include Breath Prayer, A Different Kind of Fast, Dreaming of Stones, Love Holds You, Wisdom of Wild Grace, and a limited number of other titles based on a first come, first serve basis)
- This level includes all online programs that Abbey of the Arts hosts*
*it does not include any programs Christine leads for other organizations where registration happens through the host agency.
