To complete a SCI Certificate you must complete (over a maximum of three years):
1. Three online classes (30 hours each)
2. Two live retreats (19-33 hours each – varies depending on selection)
3. Final Integration Project (15 hours)
For a total of 150 hours+ of continuing education for soul care practitioners.
All online classes are limited to 15 participants
• Midwinter God: Making a Conscious Underworld Journey (offered next in Jan-Feb 2013) – 30 hours of continuing education
• Earth as Soul Care Matrix: The Wild Heart of Ministry (April 16-May 27, 2012) – 30 hours of continuing education
• Live It to Give It: Essential Practices of Soul Nourishment & Self-Care (April 16-May 27, 2012) – 30 hours of continuing education
• Private discussion forum limited to 15 participants
• Weekly phone call which is recorded and available for listening
• Three-times weekly written email reflections
• Other resources may include guided meditations, videos, journaling suggestions
• If you are applying for a certificate, at the end of each online class we will invite you to complete a form indicating satisfactory completion of all requirements for the class.
All live classes are limited to 10-20 participants (depending on event and location)
• Exploring Archetypal Energies through Expressive Arts: Inner Work for Soul Care Practitioners (March 25-29, 2012) - 25 hours of continuing education
• Awakening the Creative Spirit: Experiential Education for Spiritual Directors in the Expressive Arts (May 13-18, 2012) – 33 hours of continuing education
• Body Wisdom for Soul Care Practitioners (Offered December 3-6, 2012) – approx 19 hours of continuing eductaion (to be determined)
After completion of the three online classes and two live retreats, the final requirement for the Soul Care Institute Certificate program is an Integration Project. This is a project created BY and FOR you to help synthesize your personal development, growth and increased awareness during your participation in the Soul Care Institute. We want this to be something meaningful for you and tailored to your interests.
Process for Completion:
1. Contact Christine to let her know you are ready for the final project and select either Kayce Hughlett or Christine as your final project mentor (Choices may vary depending on timing, availability, and travel schedules).
2. Register for the Final Integration Project and pay the $250 fee which covers the phone and email time with your mentor.
3. Have an initial one-hour phone call with your mentor where you will discuss your experience in SCI classes and retreats, then identify together and design what kind of final project would be the most supportive for your own integration. It might be a paper or art project of some kind, it is totally adaptable to your needs.
4. Allow 4-8 weeks following the call to create the project agreed upon. Kayce or Christine will be available for brief email consultation along the way. The expectation is that you would spend about 12 hours on this. If the project will take longer than 8 weeks, please contact your mentor to discuss.
5. Submit your final project and then schedule a final one-hour phone call where you will have a chance to share about what you learned and explore further possibilities for future growth and deepening.
6. Receive 15 hours of continuing education and your SCI Certificate of Completion!
• Those who have applied to complete a certificate receive first priority for online class registration and a small discount on online class fees.
• You can take up to three years to complete the courses.
• When the three online courses, two live retreats, and Final Integrative Project are completed you will receive a SCI Certificate of Completion (to view the required classes click here).
• Because this is a new program we may add classes along the way. Those applying to complete a certificate need only complete the classes listed currently with the option to take additional classes as desired.
• Time commitment of about 5 hours per week and active participation in online forums and phone calls.

Reflect on the following questions thoughtfully and succinctly:
I. Educational Background
• List all undergraduate and graduate colleges/universities attended, year graduated, degree, major.
• List all training programs leading to licensure, certification, registration or certificate of advanced study, OR training/exposure to learning that has significantly impacted your work, philosophy or personal growth.
II. Professional Background
• Briefly summarize your adult work history, including length of time at each type of work. Describe in somewhat more detail your current work. What is your level of satisfaction with your current work?
• Do you consider your work a spiritual practice? In a few words, share a bit more about your response.
III. Personal Reflection
• What are your hopes for this program? Please be specific about your desires and aspirations.
• What strengths do you bring to this program? Where do you currently experience your growing edges?
• What most excites you about this program? What most causes apprehension or uncertainty within you?
IV. Practical Considerations
• The SCI program requires commitment of resources: Time, money, energy, focus. Do you anticipate difficulties in any area(s)? How will you manage these difficulties?
• At what pace do you expect to complete the program? Plan to spend an average of 5 hrs/wk/online class. The program can be completed in 1.5 years but you have up to 3 years to finish all requirements.
