Lovely to hear Dianna!

Becca, thanks for the reminder of my wonderful southern hemisphere readers. :-) It is challenging to embrace the seasons with worldwide readers. I understand the poignancy of your loss, those first holiday seasons after my mother died were especially challenging.

Hey Christine and fellow readers,
Here in Australia, our days are not only lengthening, they are deepening in light and the sun's stark intensity. It's about as non-dark as you can get. Thusly it's difficult to remember what the dim chilly days of winter are like when it's 39C! Perhaps I need to look at your post-winter solstice blog entries to get a sense of the light-growing rhythm that you tune into...
I'm glad you've brought to attention the ancient remembering-time of the ancestors. The slow workings of grief seem heightened in the 'Christmas season': this will be the second without my father in the visible realm. But it is these rituals and writings and rememberings which let the loss be shared out and carried with greater ease. So thanks for your work and your heart.
Deep peace.

I seem to never have "dreaded" the dark days, the rain or the fog as some of my friends and family do......there is a but attached to this sentence........but, since I met you, who enjoys these weather changes and circumstances, I've begun to actually greet these days with a different attitude. Hmmmmmm. It's a good thing, I guess I'm just a little surprised with it.

Beautiful photo - and in the words of a "famous" storyteller - I WAS THERE!:)
