What a great interview. Larkin, it was terrific to have you speak at FASA in San Antonio, and this interview could be expanded into another wonderful program! I find that I have many aspects of my work and spiritual practice with yours. Thanks for your candor and inspiration.

I was so excited to read this article! Years ago an acquaintance of mine attended a workshop in Washington State and when she came back she, with a group of quilters, made some of the most beautiful paraments I have ever seen. I know now, it was the Grunewald Guild and Larkin Jean Van Horn that influenced these incredible pieces.
I also felt the truth of the ‘clear a path’ movement.

I love all of Larkin’s art works! And every single word of hers spoke to me. Not only does she have a clear vision of the feminine face of God upon her work, she has a clear vision and knowledge of her own self and spirit. THAT is beautiful in itself. She was even blessed with a wonderful first name Thank you so much for introducing Larkin to us.

Another wonderful interview. It makes me excited and optimistic that there are so many people in this world with wonderful talent employed through a sacred lens. I particularly like the awakening to “art” triggered by Larkin’s great-Aunt’s words. It only take a moment for the fundamentals to shift.

Wonderful interview. When you consider the source of ALL religions is the Creator- we are all related. I call this the Mind Boggling Principle of the Universe.
I have done studies on the prior paradigm, before our present patriarchal one when the female was honored ( including feminine attributes)- we certainly need these now!
God is not male nor female, beyond gender, we are all light.

because thats exactly what I do after finishing something creative.

thank you for introducing us to larkin. i, too, like the thought/process of “clearing a path” and i love her connections between spirituality and creativity…whether we are painting, writing, doing fabric art or making a pot of soup, we are creating in the creator’s image.

this interview makes me want to go downstairs and pull out my fabrics to play, so now i am left with the decision as to whether that is avoidance of other art, dabbling, procrastination or a call to creativity. hmmmmmmm.

So much of what Larkin produces and says resonated with me, and as I am feeling particularly antsy, out of sorts and downright angry, this was a really good post to read. I think I need to go and “clear a path”
