Daylight “Savings” Time
March 9, 2008 · by Christine
Did you remember to set your clocks ahead last night?
“I don’t really care how time is reckoned so long as there is some agreement about it, but I object to being told that I am saving daylight when my reason tells me that I am doing nothing of the kind. I even object to the implication that I am wasting something valuable if I stay in bed after the sun has risen. As an admirer of moonlight I resent the bossy insistence of those who want to reduce my time for enjoying it. At the back of the Daylight Saving scheme I detect the bony, blue-fingered hand of Puritanism, eager to push people into bed earlier, and get them up earlier, to make them healthy, wealthy and wise in spite of themselves.”
-Robertson Davies, in The Diary of Samuel Marchbanks (1947)
On Friday my box full of new Blossoming zines arrived at my door, finally back from the printer – oh what delight every time to pull my new creations out and receive them anew. I mailed out a huge pile from the post office to all of my subscribers and pre-orders, so now how about you? Don’t you want a little something that floods your day with thoughts of blossoming and breathes some spring into the air?
** Remember to order by Friday for shipment this week, there will be no orders sent out March 15-30 **

yes indeed, I could have written that quote myself quite authentically and loved it when I found it.
As my husband says, daylight savings is all the pain of jet lag without the fun of travel!
lucy, mon cherie, a copy will be in the mail tomorrow.
hugs to you Bette, if you want your before Easter, then order this week! Otherwise in April.
