Clear Skies: Visual Meditation
January 25, 2008 · by Christine

It has been crisp, clear, and cold this week in Seattle (and below freezing temps which is unusual for our climate), which means stunning views of the mountain ranges that surround us. Top photo is Seattle with the Cascades behind them (taken from the ferry). The two middle photos are the Olympics from my hermitage. One above the bottom is Mount Rainier hovering on the horizon like a phantom, taken from the ferry. Bottom photo is, of course, the Space Needle with the Olympics behind it taken from my neighborhood. Brrrr, looking at these makes me want to fix some hot cocoa and build a fire.

Gorgeous. I now desperately want to hear Nancy Lamott’s beautiful version of the song “Blue Skies” and don’t have my iPod with me!

‘Nothin’ but blue skies from now on!’ Christine, these photos are wintery-breathtaking beautiful, girl! They also kinda remind me of Japanese Ukiyo-e prints made by the masters
