Happy Thanksgiving
November 22, 2007 · by Christine
I don’t want you to just sit down at the table.
I don’t want you to just eat and be content.
I want you to walk out into the fields
Where the water is shining and the rice has risen.
I want you to stand there far from this white tablecloth.
I want you to fill your hands with mud, like a blessing.

I hope it counts to walk in the woods and get mud on my boots! And that you had a beautiful day. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving Christine and John. Bette stole all my material, but know that MANY of us feel the same way! Blessings!

Thank you all, Mary Oliver does say it best, doesn’t she? And yes, Songbird, I would say that definitely counts.
