Summer has hit Seattle with a vengeance, brilliant long days filled with breezes and sunshine.  It is supposed to hit an unusual 97 degrees here tomorrow, heaven help me.  I am not a big fan of summer's heat, I much prefer the cozy cool days of fall and winter.  But I do appreciate the playfulness and spaciousness of summer. And I know of no bigger fan of summer's delights than my friend Rachelle, aka Magpie Girl.  She has just released her second zine called Tweet, a distinctly feminine and very playful celebration of summer.  Receiving it in the mail today, I almost forgot how much I am dreading the oncoming rise in temperature.  Maybe I'll mix up a batch of the St. Mair Sangria recipe she includes and perhaps care a little bit less about the fact that no one has air conditioning in this Northwest city I love so much.  For your own batch of summer fun and inspiration, go over to Rachelle's Etsy store and order yourself a copy of Tweet

Thanks for the "spoiler" Christine! I too love Rachelle's offerings! ;) I need to wait till payday to order "Tweet," but I still hover frequently over "Hiver!" I'm off to Milwaukee this weekend for Immersion…woohoo!!! :D Hope your week cool's off. It's been blistering here, too…I can wring the kids' shirts after they've been outside for a short bit (and it's not from the sprinkler!). Fortunately, it cooled off this evening. It was almost chilly when I headed to work. And it felt wonderful! –Karla

I do sympathise over the heat, I don't like it either, and we rarely get it even as hot as 97 in the UK. I'm a complete wuss about it! We're having a really cold summer at the moment and I'm trying to sympathise with everyone moaning about the weather. Tee hee.

Thanks for the heat sympathy! The weather report online reads: AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM PDT THIS EVENING. AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL REACH INTO THE MID 90S TO NEAR 100 DEGREES. THIS IS 20 TO 25 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL

Yuk! Thankfully the forecast for next week is the 70's and showers.

Karla, tell Trish hello from me. Tess, the temps were so nice when we were in Ireland, I am very tempted to fly back! (except I don't think I can be away from Tune anymore…)
