Shadows Lengthen

It has been a full day for me, a day filled with words and many gifts. As the afternoon light lengthens the shadows of everything I love across the earth, I want to rest in silence.  So I offer my prayer in an image and a blessing upon your weekend.  May you find rest in the dark spaces that are the other side of this sunlit, full time of year.

I'll do the drawing for the notecards tomorrow, so feel free to leave a comment to have your name entered.

Hi Christine, Finally found a post that I absolutely loved! Here are some excerpts it. Sorry this is long, but its meaningful and maybe a new reader will be encouraged to go look up this archived post.

    From October 2, 2006 – LIFE ILLUMINATED – Excerpts:

Life Illuminated – October 2, 2006. I loved everything about this post – poem by Mary Oliver mentioning kneeling down in the grass, Christine's mention of pilgrimage, forest, trees, sacredness, holiness, inward outward journey, Thomas Merton "a hidden wholeness", wholeness of bark and leaf and flowing water, ancient traditions, pine needles and moss are like luminaries lighting my path, "If I had wings, they would have spread wide and lifted me gently into the sky", What does sunlight filling a grove of ancient trees stir in you?, “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” and Christine included five BEAUTIFUL photos of trees!!!

  2. To rest in the shadows, with rays of God's light coming through…..Beautiful.
    Have a blesed week-end.

I love shadows. After looking at the picture in a previous post of the shadoows upon that pink pillar, i have to wonder if lace was invented by looking at shadows?

Please count me in for the drawing too : )

    Paix, Wendy
